Flubetech starts the collaboration at Politécnico di Milano

Flubetech is collaborating with the Politecnico di Milano (POLIMI) in the frame of the project Sludgetreat. The project, supported by the EC, is led by CMIC-Dep. Chimica, Materiali e Ingegneria Chimica «Giulio Natta» and DICA Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering of the POLIMI together with the Italian firm AST, and with the participation of AIN and Flubetech for their knowledge in materials science and engineering area.

The treatment of sewage sludge by electron osmosis is the most efficient method to extract water from the mud and get a recyclable solid waste, but involves a friction wear and corrosion of the electrodes. Flubetech contribution is based on the improvement of the base material and electrode surface by PVD coatings. The aim is to achieve better wear resistance, corrosion and electrical conductivity.
